Jet lag
This year I have been doing quite a bit of traveling. I have accrued over 100,000 miles traveling for business alone! Needless to say, I'm quite sick of traveling. More to the point, I'm sick of jet lag. It's been hitting me pretty hard the last couple of trips, and this one might be the worse yet. So far, I've really only been able to sleep about 3 hours a night. Not a huge fan of that. If it doesn't change soon (which I really hope it does) I guess I will have to try and figure out something to help me sleep more at night. I really dislike sleeping pills or other drugs intended to make you sleep, but I'm sure I can find some sort of natural remedy. Like I said though, with any luck, I'll snap out of it in a few days and then I can start sleeping a whole night again! Here's to hoping!

Busy Busy
Well, it has been quite a while since I have written anything, but I have a good excuse. I've been working quite hard at knocking out as many classes as I can for my bachelors! My degree audit has finally been completed, and I only need about 10 more classes to finish my degree. Needless to say I am pretty excited. With that being said, I'm taking a few classes and also taking CLEPs to get some of those lower level credits out of the way. So, I have literally been consumed by school. It is quite exhausting but it will defnitely be worth it in the end. Given that I think I am the only one that looks at my blog, I don't feel any great need to constantly update this, but I will do my best to get on top of it better!

Feeling Supremely Unmotivated
I can't remember the last time that I felt so incredibly unmotivated. I have some homework that I need to do, but I just can't muster up the gumption to get it done. Infact, I don't want to do anything except sit on the couch, watch something, and then go to sleep. I tried motivating myself earlier by getting up, taking a shower and going out and getting something tasty to eat. I figured that would kind of jump start me. I was wrong. I just don't feel like doing anything! I'm not sad or anything, just kind of unmotivated to move around. I think I'm going to go to sleep early tonight and get a good night sleep. Hopefully that will set everything straight and I will be good to go!
Oh...I did find some motivation to play some of this game called "Heavy Rain" on the PS3. It is frakin amazing! If you haven't checked it out yet, I definitely suggest you do. It is like a choose your own adventure movie. Really keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you feel like you are really incontrol of the story.

Sigh....
So, against my better judgement I just tried to watch the first episode of the TV series "The Legend of the Seeker". I had to turn it off. It was so bad on almost every front I can think of casting, acting, writing, adaptation of the original stories...it was just a disaster. For those of you who don't know, this utter travesty of a show is supposedly based off of "The Sword of Truth" series written by Terry Goodkind. Now, the first 3 or 4 books of this series are great. Seriously good fantasy fiction. The first book, Wizards First Rule is definitely on my top 10 books list. The only thing that this show has in common with the books is pretty much the names of the characters. Just about EVERYTHING else is different, and sucks completely. I can't even impress upon you how sad I was. Even if you had never read the books before, the series still sucked. I definitely do NOT recommend this show to anyone. If it wasn't bad enough that there was 1 whole season of this show, they decided to make a 2nd season! I am definitely not alone in my view of this show. In my search for other people to commiserate with, I ran across this review/letter to the author, Terry Goodkind. It is pretty darned funny. Arg...well, I don't know what else to say. Picard pretty much sums it up for me.

My Blog is a Sad, Lonely Darth Vader...
So, I was just looking at Patty's blog and saw her post about having people from all over the world come visit her site! I was pretty intrigued by all of the random searches that led people to her page, so I thought I would ck my own analytics page to see what sort of fun stuff led people to my life! The results were less than exciting. Now, I realize that I haven't really had much to say at times, but I thought random hits would have happened. Yeah...not so much. Patty has people from like 47 countries visiting her website. She is just more exciting than me!
Maybe if I just mention Patty's website enough time in my blog, with hyperlinks to her page, people will hit on my page by accident! I doubt it, but here's to hoping! I find my own lack of faith disturbing...
Fun on the Couch
Often later in the evening, I find myself sitting on the couch watching a little tv, looking at the internet a bit, and constantly looking at the clock to decide what is a good time for me to go to sleep. Patty is usually on her laptop looking at her boards, so this is some nice quiet time we have. It's kind of funny when we are both just sitting here next to each other, each using a computer! A bit wierd, yes...but it works for us!

Back to Blogging
Well, I actually wrote up a whole new big blog, but Safari crashed and now I'm left to start over again. Sad. This will be much shorter than my original post. Basically though, I realized from my hiatus of blogging that I actually really liked it and missed doing it. I therefore decided that I would make an effort to do this more often!
So, even though I didn't take these photo's (obviously) I wanted to put up a couple of pics of things I've been doing lately! The first is my new MacBook Pro! I love it. It is great. We decided to get it since our other laptop is broken and since I am going TDY so much that I needed something to do my homework on, and so that we can skype together! The other picture is of a game I've been playing! It's actually been out since like 2003, and I've always wanted to try it. I'm happy to say that it hasn't disappointed! If you want to find out more about it, you can ck it out here.
Anyways, that is about it. I'll post some nice pics tomorrow!

It's all fun and games some nights!
Patty and I played a new game with our friends last night, it was called Dominion. It ended up being a card game, which I thought Patty would hate, but it was really fun and we both had a great time! It always helped that I won! :)
Tomorrow we are going snowboarding at Appi. I'm really excited to try out my new board, and to go out again and hit the slopes! I'm really excited for Patty aswell. I know she is going to feel way more incontrol this time and hopefully I'll get to take her down some of the bigger runs!

Happy Snowboard Day!
Well, my snowboard, boots, and bindings all came in the mail today! Needless to say I'm pretty excited! My apologies for not posting anything for the past few days, but I didn't realize how late school would really go to, and how tired I would be. I'll be sure to post earlier though to make sure I get a pic in every day! Anyways, either this weekend or next week, I can't wait to shred the mountain up with my cool board! They also included a nice winter hat, a baseball cap, and a pair of headphones for free in with the package! I highly recommend the place I got the board from (The House), which you can find here. They had wicked fast shipping and great service!

That's alot of Warhammer!
I traded some stuff for this sizable Warhammer army awhile ago, only to come to the conclusion that I don't really have the time (or the desire really) to play alot or get these guys up to a table top standard (ie painting and whatnot). So, I spent awhile today trying to sell them off. I think I might have some buyers too, which is very nice. These guys are always in demand so I hope I can move them. In another note, my side still hurts from my massive fall on Friday. Yesterday I was in all sorts of pain, and not just my side. I had this killer headache all day, and I didn't get around to posting a blog. Anyways, I felt guilty and the need to explain so, there you go. Anyways, good times, noodle salad.

Snowboarding at Mikado
My friend Ed and I took leave from work yesterday to go snowboarding. We were hoping ofcourse that there wouldn't be anyone else there really except for us, and boy were we right! After a little adventure getting there, we finally arrived to find that it was pretty much us and 4 other people on the slopes. The Japanese Army was also doing some training for a little while, but only on one run of the mountain. It was a really great day, filled with amazing views and awesome powder. I really only fell once (I'm getting much better now!) but that one fall made me think that I punctured my kidney. I fell so hard that somehow I elbowed myself in my right side, and bruised my insides pretty bad...needless to say it took the wind out of me. Luckily though I was able to shake it off and keep going! It was a great day and I'm looking forward to going again Monday!

My First Snowboard
Since I have been snowboarding so much, Patty and I thought it would be a good idea if I actually bought a board. That way I don't have to rent one every time we go, and in the long run we will save money on it! So, I ordered this one lastnight! The best part is that it already shipped out too! So, I'm hopeful that I might even get it as soon as next weekend so that I can use it soon! Anyways, I'm pretty stoked. They say that you should really like the artwork on your board too because that is half the fun. I have to admit, I'm pretty enthused about this board...the weird thing is that I've never been too into comics though. I mean I've liked some, and even own a couple, but I was just surprised that I liked this one so much! Well, this board should last me the next couple of years, so I look forward to carving up the mtns on it!

Fun in the Snow!
Since it snowed a whole bunch, Patty and I decided to go outside and build a snowman! It was the first time she had ever made one, and we both had alot of fun!
Aside from that, I've been researching snowboards for the past week or so, with it culminating today. I think tomorrow I am going to go and look at purchasing one. I'm excited! There is so much fun to be had in the snow I can hardly contain myself!
Even Patty said she likes the snow! Ahhh...how we love Misawa!

Why Won't This Work!?
Patty: The PS3 won't play the disk!
Me: Hmm...weird. Are you sure it's not showing it on there?
Patty: Yeah! Look! (flips through all the menu's) It's not there
Me: Hmm...weird. Try ejecting it and then putting it back in.
Patty: Ok. (PS3 beeps to let you know there is no disk in there)
Me: Are you sure you put the disk in the player?
Patty: Hehehe...whoops!!
Disk Fail.

Chu-Hi Sunday
For a day of recovering sore muscles, an alcoholic beverage is quite nice. I highly recommend the white peach chu-hi's for just such an occasion. These vodka based drinks are simply delightful!
Aside from having a few of these, Patty and I went over a friends house for dinner and some board games. We played a game called "Agricola" which was really awesome! It is definitely on our list of games we have to buy now. It's alarming the pace at which that list is growing...

Ice Cream Spoon For The Win!
I present to you the worlds best ice cream spoon. It is flat, and rather shovel-like, which is mighty perfect for eating frozen treats. The Yakiniku House in Misawa is the only place I have ever seen ice cream spoons like this before. Coincidentally we also ate dinner there tonight with our friends Ed and Chessa (as well as their daughers). It is always quite delicious. Afterwards, we enjoyed a game of Battlestar Galactica at their house. Overall a very nice evening.

Back on Track
Well, as the title would suggest, I'm back on my education track. True that it is not particularly the track that I would like to go down, but at this point in the game, I would just really like to finish my degree. The fastest track to that is to get my degree in Asian Studies. Since I should be able to either test out of, or skip all together the language portions of the curriculum that will significantly reduce the amount of credits I need to finish this. I still have quite a few classes though that I need to get out of the way, so I'm just focusing on taking those right now. I'm a bit sad I don't have more flexibility in the classes I can take because I would really love to take some astronomy classes. Maybe someday. Anyways, hopefully all will go smoothly with me finishing up my degree, and if OTS still looks like a good idea when I'm done, I'll apply and get picked up! We shall see.

Going Prehistoric
After watching a few new episodes of "Heroes" that just downloaded, I was roaming around the internet and found this interesting browser based game called BC Wars. Basically, you make a cave man, and then run around collecting clams (which I guess is money) and killing dinosaurs. It sucked up a good 30 mins of my time. Mildly entertaining.

I'm not too exciting
Well, today was pretty uneventful. After I got home from work, Patty and I went and got some sushi aka lifeblood, and then we went grocery shopping. Good times, eh? When we got home, we each had a beer, and pretty much spent the rest of the evening watching Star Gate Atlantis. I know I know...I'm a dork, but really...I'm ok with that. Infact I plum like it that way. Oh, and for the record despite what Patty might say, she has taken a liking to the show. :)

Day 1
Today some of our friends dropped off a xmas present for us! I was pretty excited because as you might have found out already from Patty's blog, we've become quite the board-gamers! Anyways, we got the Battlestar Galactica board game, and I decided to read through all of the rules. The board games we normally play might have about 4 or 5 pages of instructions, but this baby had 30 pages chock full of rules! It looks like it will be really fun! I can't wait to play it! If your interested in learning more about this game, you can ck out reviews and such here. So say we all!

Epic Fail
For all of my avid blog readers out there, anxiously anticipating my blog updates I must apologize. I have not done quite a good job at keeping you all in the loop with my blog. However, since pictures have been said to be worth 1000 words, I thought that I would follow Patty's example and try to do this Project 365. This I think I can do, and would even be into! I love photography, and I can think of nothing I would like more than to share them all with you! Now, unfortunately I can't take pictures of where I work, so they will have to be of other activities I have done throughout the day. Unlike Patty though, I'm not going to start a new picture blog...I'm just going to use my current one...afterall, these are my memoirs, are they not? In any event, I will start it tonight! Thankyou for taking part in my life...however distant! :)
